Program Goals

Upon successful completion of the program, students will be able to:

Demonstrate an understanding of medical terminology, human anatomy, and disease processes.
Utilize multiple coding classification systems applicable to inpatient and outpatient care settings.
Apply coding guidelines to ensure comprehensive, accurate coding.
Demonstrate competency with software programs and technologies used in the workplace.
Utilize health data to complete common tasks, functions, or projects.
Examine legal, ethical, and financial issues and their impact on health information management.
