A Certificate in Corrections provides students with introductory knowledge and skills needed for a career in corrections. This certificate is open to participants in the Carroll County Sheriff’s Corrections Training Academy only. 

Requirements


Corrections Certificate
Recommended Sequence: 12 Credits Required

Program Goals


Upon successful completion of the program, students will be able to:

  1. Communicate in written and oral modes to express knowledge of corrections situations.
  2. Employ various thinking strategies to develop well-reasoned judgements in commonly-encountered corrections situations.
  3. Demonstrate acceptable practical skills required for an entry-level corrections officer.

Due to the curriculum required, this certificate is available only to recruits affiliated with the Carroll County Sheriff’s Corrections program.
