CGR 105 - Introduction to Computer Graphics


Number of Credits: 3
Explore the field of graphic design; apply techniques using graphic design and layout software on a computer. Survey logo, product, and poster design as well as the computer graphics industry. (Fall & Spring Only) Three hours lecture each week. Three Credits. Three billable hours.

Pre-requisite(s): exemption/completion of ENG 001 .
Course Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
  1. Use industry-standard design software at an introductory level. (PG 1)
  2. Use industry-standard design hardware at an introductory level. (PG 1)
  3. Create aesthetically appropriate artifacts for their design portfolio. (PG 4)
  4. Perform research on contemporary graphic design. (PG 2)
  5. Convert abstract concepts into original design solutions. (PG 3)
  6. Communicate design concepts. (PG 3)
  7. Assess artifacts created by others. (PG 3)
  8. Apply the basics of graphic design theory. (PG 2)
