DFAB 207 - SOLIDWORKS Advanced Number of Credits: 3 Maximize the use of part modeling capabilities of SOLIDWORKS mechanical design automation software. Leverage multibody solids, advanced sweeping and lofting features, and more robust part shaping capabilities of SOLIDWORKS. Create welded structures with structural members, weldment profiles, and weld beads. This course will prepare students to take the Certified SOLIDWORKS Professional Advanced Weldment (CSWPA-WD) exam. (Spring Term Only) Three hours lecture each week. Three Credits. Three billable hours.
Pre-requisite(s): Pre-requisite:DFAB 105 with a minimum grade of C or better. Can be taken concurrently with DFAB 270 with permission of Program Director. Course Topics:

Course Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

Create 3D sketching and curve features (PG1, PG5).

Produce weldment parts using various methods and techniques (PG 1, PG5).

Manipulate weldment features, parts, and parameters (PG 1, PG5).

Construct bent structural members (PG 1, PG5).

Compose weldment profiles to be used as library features (PG1, PG5).

Illustrate how to effectively work with weldment cut list items and member profiles (PG1, PG5).

Generate weldment configurations, drawing details, and annotations (PG1, PG5).
