HONOR 101 - College Success for Honors Number of Credits: 1 Develop skills to be an effective learner and achieve success in college. Understand personality types and how they impact our everyday lives. Explore strategies for maintaining balance and boundaries as well as reducing stress. This course is only for students participating in the Pappalardo Honors Program. Additional $250 fee required. (All Terms) One hour lecture each week. One Credit. One billable hour.
Pre-requisite(s): Admission to the Pappalardo Honors Program. Course Topics: Students develop critical thinking, time management, communication, organizational skills, and study skills, including test-taking. Course Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to: This course introduces students to the skills necessary to attain the most from their educational experience. Upon completion of HONORS 101, students will be able to:
- Identify strategies to be a successful college student.
- Demonstrate various techniques to decrease stress and promote a healthy sense of self and well-being.
- Explain Myers-Briggs types and ways to enhance academic performance and career plans based on this instrument.
- Identify resources (people and information) on and off campus to meet student needs at Carroll Community College.
- Practice creative and critical thinking skills.
