SUAS 270 - Capstone in sUAS Technology


Number of Credits: 3
Assemble a portfolio of work that includes an independent, comprehensive, industry-specific project and presentation. Explore participation in the sUAS industry. This capstone course is designed for students pursuing the Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (Fall & Spring Only) Three hours lecture each week. Three Credits. Three billable hours.

Pre-requisite(s): 18 credits of sUAS coursework required.
Course Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
1. Prepare a portfolio of work that demonstrates advanced knowledge of drone technology and associated industry. (PG2, PG3)
2. Explain the chosen application and benefits through a portfolio presentation. (PG2, PG3)
3. Fly a drone safely to achieve desired results. (PG2, PG3)
4. Plan a complex drone mission. (PG3)
5. Generate relevant industry-relevant image and data outcomes. (PG2, PG3)
6. Develop a business plan to support career goals. (PG3)
7. Demonstrate how to safely and legally fly multiple drone platforms in a variety of commercial missions in a range of conditions. (PG2, PG3)
