MUSIC 000 - Applied Music Lessons


Number of Credits: 1-2
 

Develop and improve rhythmic accuracy, pitch, accuracy, musical expression, and instrumental technique. Explore and perform new music literature. Critically analyze musical performance. AFA music students should take four 2-credit applied music lessons (one each term recommended). Offered Summer, Fall, Spring.

Private voice or instrumental lessons are arranged in half-hour or one-hour sessions each week. Students are expected to commit to a minimum practice regimen of approximately 6-8 hours per week as recommended by the professor. Lessons can be arranged for voice and most musical instruments. Half-hour lesson: One credit. One billable hour. $193 applied music fee.

One-hour lesson: Two credits. Two billable hours. $386 applied music fee.

 

Pre-requisite(s): eligible for ENG-001 or higher.

MUSIC-250: Prerequisite: MUSIC-151 (with the same instrument).

MUSIC-251: Prerequistite: MUSIC-250 (with the same instrument).

MUSIC-260: Prerequisite: MUSIC-251 (with the same instrument).

MUSIC-261: Prerequisite: MUSIC-260 (with the same instrument).

MUSIC-262: Prerequisite: MUSIC-261 (with the same instrument).
