Pre-requisite(s): Placement into ENG 001 or higher, plus satisfactory MAT placement measure, or Academic Center approval.

Course Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

Apply concepts of place value to whole numbers and decimals
Add, subtract, multiply, and divide integers, fractions, and decimals.
Use the order of operations to simplify and evaluate algebraic expressions.
Solve linear equations in one variable that contain integers, fractions, and decimals.
Convert between fractions, decimals, and percent.
Translate words into mathematical expressions and equations.
Apply perimeter and area formulas to solve problems.
Use percent, rates, and proportions to solve problems.
Calculate measures of center.
Use rounding and estimating strategies to assess reasonable outcomes.
