DFAB 201 - Advanced 3D Printing Number of Credits: 3 Employ advanced 3D Printing theory and methodology using industrial grade Additive Manufacturing technology. Apply design techniques to leverage the attributes of various professional 3D printers in preparation for the workforce. (Spring)Two hours lecture each week.Two hours laboratory each week. Three Credits. Three billable hours.
Pre-requisite(s): Prerequisites: DFAB 101 and DFAB 105 .
Course Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Explain the various advantages and constraints of 3D printing.
- Describe the American Society of Testing and Materials key Additive Manufacturing processes and associated technologies.
- Evaluate 3D printing industries and their accompanying applications.
- Differentiate Digital Manufacturing applications.
- Use software effectively to perpetuate functional artifacts.
- Implement Industrial Grade Additive Manufacturing technologies in a variety of applications.
- Apply additive design and fabrication considerations.
- Demonstrate post-processing techniques for Industrial Grade Additive Manufacturing technologies.
