STEM 105 - STEM Scholars’ Road Trips

Explore academic transfer and pathways toward career. Visit academic institutions and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics organizations. Friday travel to various local and/or regional organizations and academic institutions is planned. Saturday travel to one academic conference is also planned. Prerequisite: acceptance to the STEM Scholar Program. One hour lecture every two weeks, plus 4-6 Friday field trips.(Spring)Schedule varies by week One-Half Credit. One-Half billable hour.

Course Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

Reflect upon current issues impacting STEM fields.
Identify links between academic pathway and career.
Evaluate information about potential transfer schools.
Describe the steps in the transfer application process.
