Cybersecurity, A.A.S.

The Cybersecurity program is designed to prepare students for a career in cybersecurity, computer network security and administration, or related field. The program provides a well-rounded base of knowledge and skills including computer networking and network security, network analysis, systems hardening, penetration testing, forensics, scripting, and technical writing and documentation. Students who select this curriculum and wish to transfer later to a four-year institution should check with that institution. While many courses will transfer, certain specialized courses may not.

Credit may be granted for a current industry-recognized certification. See Mr. Day for information. Send credentials to the Records office.

Recommended Course Sequence: (Total Credits: 60)

Program Goals


Upon successful completion of the program, students will be able to:

  1. Effectively communicate technical information to others with varying technology backgrounds, verbally and in writing, using criteria defined by the program.
  2. Apply technical reasoning to diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve challenges and threats.
  3. Demonstrate effective documentation and reporting skills as measured by industry defined technical documentation standards.
  4. Research and apply technical information to cybersecurity issues.
  5. Evaluate security scenarios and threats and formulate effective action plans that mitigate risk.
