The purpose of the Associate of Science program in Engineering is to prepare students to continue their studies towards a baccalaureate degree in engineering. This program provides an opportunity for students to explore the various aspects of engineering. Students acquire a solid foundation in mathematics, science, and engineering while developing their ability to think critically and solve problems.

Program Goals
Upon successful completion of the program, students will be able to:
- Demonstrate relevant foundational knowledge in mathematics, science, and engineering, including the use of computer tools.
- Use foundational knowledge to engage in engineering problem solving.
- Collaborate with others on a team to complete projects and assignments.
- Explain the professional and ethical obligations of engineers to employers and society.

*If transferring to UMCP, CHEM 134 (offered winter term only) or CHEM 106 must be completed (prerequisite CHEM 105 ).
The following courses are required for this concentration; some courses fulfill General Education requirements: CHEM 105 , MATH 135 , MATH 136 , MATH 205 , MATH 215 , PHYS 212 and 14 Concentration Elective credits (according to transfer institution preferences, select from CAD 101 , CIS 132 , ENGR 102 , ENGR 220 , ENGR 221 , MATH 210 and/or PHYS 213 ).
