Degree Requirements
Recommended Course Sequence: (Total Credits: 60)
Program Goals
Upon successful completion of the program, students will be able to:
- Demonstrate an understanding of medical terminology, human anatomy, and disease processes.
- Utilize multiple coding classification systems applicable to inpatient and outpatient care settings.
- Apply coding guidelines to ensure comprehensive, accurate coding.
- Demonstrate competency with software programs and technologies used in the workplace.
- Utilize health data to complete common tasks, functions, or projects.
- Examine legal, ethical, and financial issues and their impact on health information management.

All courses must be completed with a minimum grade of C.
