Explain how remote pilots apply UAS technology for commercial, scientific, and governmental purposes while respecting both physical and regulatory limitations. Summarize ways that unmanned aircraft are used to accomplish a variety of tasks in complex environments. Explore professionalism and ethics for remote pilots. (Spring Term Only) Three hours lecture. Course Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

Describe ethics and privacy considerations in the operation of unmanned aircraft. (PG2, PG5)
Interpret aviation rules and regulations as they pertain to unmanned aircraft. (PG2)
Generalize the principles of small unmanned aircraft systems aerodynamics and performance. (PG3)
Produce an applicable flight plan for flying in the National Airspace System. (PG2)
Produce appropriate communication phraseology with air traffic control and conflict aircraft. (PG2, PG3)
Recognize attitudes and behaviors appropriate to effective commercial aviation. (PG2, PG5)
