NURS 225 - Practical Nursing Concepts Number of Credits: 5 Facilitate entry to the licensed practical nursing role. Model the role of a novice practical nurse with supervision and guidance from faculty and a licensed practical nurse in a long-term care facility. Sixty hours of lecture and forty-five hours of clinical experience each semester. Additional $207 fee required. (Summer Term Only) Schedule varies by week. Five Credits. Five billable hours.
Pre-requisite(s): NURS 131 , NURS 132 , NURS 133 , NURS 140 . Course Topics: Infection, Hormonal Regulation, Cognition, Caregiving, Gas Exchange, Sexuality, Psychosis, Addiction, Interpersonal Violence, Care Coordination, Perfusion, Mood & Affect, Anxiety, Population Health, Intracranial Regulation, Inflammation, Reproduction, Leadership, Collaboration, Professional Identity, Evidence, Ethics, Health Care Organizations, Health Care Economics, and Health Law. Course Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
