NURS 203 - Transition to Reg. Nursing Number of Credits: 5 Apply concepts from Nursing Concepts 1 and 2 to advance from the practical nursing, paramedic, or military medic role to the registered nursing role. Fifty-one hours of theory and seventy-two hours of clinical experience each term. Additional $207 fee required.(Summer)Schedule varies by week. Five Credits. Five billable hours.
Pre-requisite(s): Prerequisite: Admission to the associate degree nursing program and a current unencumbered Maryland (or compact state) practical nursing license (for LPNs); Current State certification as a Paramedic and National Board of Registry certification (NREMT) and graduates of a program accredited by either CCAHEP or a state EMS Board (for Paramedic); or Medic/Corpsman with at least one year of experience (for Military Medics).
Co-requisite(s): NURS 131 and NURS 132 . Course Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Apply the nursing process when implementing a plan of care.
- Participate in opportunities that promote professional growth.
- Provide patient-centered care with assistance.
- Plan nursing care based on scientific evidence.
