The purpose of the Associate of Arts degree program in Teacher Education is to prepare students to transfer to secondary and special content programs not covered by the A.A.T. including middle school (4th-8th grade), secondary social studies (7th-12th grade), and physical education, music, and art (Pre-K-12th grade). Through student-centered instruction, advising, service learning opportunities, and classroom field placements, graduates are well prepared to enter a baccalaureate program. Students leave the program with a wealth of experience and understanding of professionalism as well as the rewards and challenges of teaching in a diverse society.
