CGR 120 - Digital Photography Number of Credits: 3 Digital Photography stresses the fundamentals of photography, the camera, and the use of the computer software and peripherals in the composition, editing, printing, and digital presentation processes. Students will learn a variety of techniques surrounding the use of camera and lighting equipment and effective photographic composition. (Spring Term Only) Two hours lecture each week. Two hours laboratory each week. Three Credits. Three billable hours.
Pre-requisite(s): exemption/completion of ENG 001 and CGR 105 . Completion of CGR 115 and CGR 110 is strongly recommended. Course Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Shoot and transfer images from a digital camera. (PG 1)
- Evaluate basic composition and aesthetic elements of photographic images. (PG 3)
- Edit and manipulate digital images using the industry-standard image editing software. (PG 1)
- Output digital still images to on-screen and printed presentations. (PG 1)
- Create aesthetically appropriate artifacts for their design portfolio. (PG 4)
- Perform research on contemporary photographers. (PG 2)
- Convert abstract concepts into original photographic solutions. (PG 1)
- Assess artifacts created by others. (PG 3)
- Apply the basics of photographic theory. (PG 2)
