Students earning a certificate in Entertainment Technology work as audiovisual specialists and event technicians in a variety of presenting venues such as conference centers, hotels, theaters, houses of worship, sports arenas, resorts, and more! Learn how to operate industry-specific technology. The small student-to-faculty ratio (usually 15-1) provides students more opportunities for hands-on learning with quality instruction from industry professionals.

ENTEC 101 - Introduction to Entertainment Technology (Fall Term Only)
COMM 105 - Introduction to Speech Communication (All Terms)
THTR 115 - Stagecraft (Fall & Spring Only)
THTR 145 - Stage Management (Fall Term Only)
Elective - Any 3-credit course.

Spring

ENTEC 105 - Entertainment Technology Lighting (Spring Term Only)
ENTEC 106 - Entertainment Technology Audio (Spring Term Only)
ENTEC 107 - Entertainment Technology Video (Spring Term Only)
THTR 245 - Production Management (Spring Term Only)
Elective - Any CGR or DFAB course

Program Goals

Upon successful completion of the program, students will be able to:

Identify types and purposes of audio, lighting, video, and set construction equipment used for live events.
Use industry standard audio, lighting, video, and set construction equipment for live events.
Apply electrical, lighting, and acoustical theories and designs pertaining to live events.
Engage in technician best practices that support live events through hands-on experience.
