Students in the Associate of Science degree in Biology continue their studies in a baccalaureate program or prepare for an entry-level position in a biology-related field. Through excellent instruction and practical experiences in research, field study, and hands-on lab activities, program graduates are skilled in various biological fields and able to think critically. This description aligns with the institutional mission of educating students to become productive and knowledgeable citizens.

Recommended Course Sequence: 60 Credits Required
Program Goals
Upon successful completion of the program, students will be able to:
- Apply the process of science to open-ended biological questions.
- Apply quantitative reasoning to the solution of biological problems.
- Communicate biological information in discipline-appropriate formats.
- Evaluate the importance of ethics and collaboration in biological research.

The following courses are required for this concentration; some courses fulfill General Education requirements: BIOL 101 , BIOL 202 , BIOL 215 , BIOL 240 , CHEM 105 , CHEM 106 , CHEM 201 , CHEM 202 , MATH 130 , and MATH 115 , MATH 132 or MATH 135 .
